New step for Diaverum which continues its development in Morocco with the acquisition of the Agadir Hemodialysis Center (C.H.A).

Our group, present in 24 countries in Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, continues its development in Morocco after a first establishment in Marrakech in 2019. Despite the pandemic context, Diaverum teams remained mobilized to finalize this acquisition in a country where nephrological care needs remain growing, with nearly 30,000 patients suffering with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

In selecting its development opportunities, Diaverum gives priority above all to healthcare structures offering qualitative patient care. It is therefore quite natural that discussions were initiated with Doctors Bachir Mounib and Haddou Zemare, founders in 1992 of the Hemodialysis Center of Agadir. Both trained in Morocco and France, and recognized by their peers among the pioneers of nephrology in Morocco, they have developed care and supported the continuous improvement of care.

"I am delighted with this integration into the Diaverum group, which, through its international dimension and its proven experience in nephrology care, should further advance us with its good care practices and its focus on the patient experience", specifies Doctor Bachir Mounib.

"We also wish, with the help of Diaverum, to further improve our infrastructure and our equipment in order to continue to receive patients from Agadir and the many holidaymakers", adds Dr Haddou Zemare.

"The acquisition of C.H.A marks a decisive step in affirming our ambitions in Morocco, a country in which we wish to become a leader in nephrological care. With a national network, we hope to provide Moroccan patients with care comparable to that of their European neighbours "comments Salim Meraouna, Director of Operations within Diaverum.

The Agadir Hemodialysis Center now employs a multidisciplinary team of more than 30 people and takes care of more than 150 patients.

"It is with great pride that I welcome the entire C.H.A team with whom we look forward to working. Agadir is a recognized and attractive destination, and offering a range of nephrological care will very soon make it possible to introduce it to our many vacationing and seasonal patients”, specifies Hervé Gourgouillon,

Diaverum Vice-President for the West region. Welcome to the entire Agadir Hemodialysis Center team.
